Thunder Score With Morrow

By Randy Renner

The Thunder swung and missed with Pau Gasol but they did a shooter they wanted, maybe not THE shooter they wanted Mike Miller would be that guy, but Anthony Morrow can certainly fill it up. He hit 45.1 percent of his threes last season (4th best in the NBA) and is a career 42.8 percent 3-point shooter. Morrow has never shot less than 37.1 percent from beyond the arc.

His contract is believed to be for three years and $10 million, the last year of that deal may not be fully guaranteed though and may be for less money than the first two as the Thunder try to position themselves for Kevin Durant's contract year.

Morrow will more than likely come off the bench for OKC though he may very we'll have a chance to win the starting shooting guard spot. However, Morrow has never been known as much of a defender so the Thunder may prefer to go with someone else and bring Morrow off the bench.

He's used to that role, having started just 10 games over the last two seasons.

Morrow won't create the buzz signing Gasol or Miller would have, but he fills a big time need and with the other offensive weapons the Thunder have, Morrow could end up with plenty of open looks.
