Oklahoma City Thunder names Charles Fisher new play-by-play announcer

As many wondered, the Oklahoma City Thunder have named their new voice for television. Charles Fisher was named as the Thunder’s new play-by-play announcer for their 70-game broadcasts on Fox Sports Oklahoma.

This is a step up for Fisher as he spent the last eight seasons as the play-by-play announcer for the University of Southern California men’s basketball team and the halftime and postgame show host for USC’s football team.

"The incredible relationship between the Thunder and its fans is well recognized in professional sports,” Fisher said in a statement. “I am thankful the organization has put its faith in me and I look forward to continuing to promote this amazing partnership.”

Fisher will make his debut at Thunder Media Day at 12:30 p.m. His first official game on the job will be on Oct. 7 when the Thunder play the Atlanta Hawks in Tulsa, OK.

Fisher will join a Fox Sports Oklahoma team of Michael Cage, Nick Gallo, Antonio Daniels, Nick Gallo and John Rhadigan.
