Adams Might Play Tonight, Roberson & McGary Won't
By Randy Renner, Senior Writer
Thunder center Steven Adams is a game time decision for tonight's game against the Mavericks in Dallas.
Adams continues to improve from a sprained he ankle he suffered last week in Spain against Real Madrid.
Thunder head coach Billy Donovan told reporters Adams looked good in shootaround but he will wait until he hears how Adams is feeling when he returns to American Airlines Center for pregame warmups and then will listen to team doctors before deciding whether to put Adams back in the lineup.
If he can't go backup center Enes Kanter, who started for Adams against Barcelona, would probably get the duty again though Donovan could also perhaps experiment with Joffery Lauvergne or even Ersan Ilyasova.
That's not the only decision on the way from Donovan, he also needs to decide who will start in place of Andre Roberson at small forward. Roberson is being rested tonight because of a sore knee.
He's apparently been dealing with some knee pain off an on since returning from Spain but right now the Thunder are indicating it doesn't appear to be anything serious.
Donovan said Kyle Singler and Josh Huestis are the most likely candidates to start in Roberson's place tonight.
Mitch McGary is also out for the Mavs game with a sore foot. That situation is also the main reason McGary didn't see any playing time in Spain.
Tipoff tonight is set for a little past 7:30 and you can see the game on Fox Sports Oklahoma.
