More From Thunder Media Day 2015

By Randy Renner

Every Thunder player and head coach Billy Donovan spoke to reporters during today's media day sessions. We have videos and/or audio of most every one. The videos are posted on the (surprise) video tab here on the website. And I will be adding audio only versions here along with some of the highlights of what the players had to say.

Audio from Coach Donovan, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook can be found in my previous post and they're also in the video section along with Serge Ibaka, Nick Collison, Anthony Morrow, Steve Novak, Steven Adams and Mitch McGary.

Here are some of the quotes from other players and the audio of their interviews.

Rookie point guard Cameron Payne says Donovan "has been very welcoming and has already taught me several things. He's coaching me like I've been his player my whole life." He also says KD "has been great on and off the court," and he drew a big laugh when he told us Russell Westbrook is "goofy." He also said Russ is "a great guy."

Shooting guard Andre Roberson says he's ready to do "whatever the coaches say" in regards to whether he starts at shooting guard or comes off the bench. Roberson also says Durant "looks like the same player to me." Dre told us his meetings with Donovan have gone well and he's looking forward to getting started at camp.

Dion Waiters, like all the other players involved in positions battles said today, he's ready "to do whatever is best for the team." Waiters came off the bench some last season after being acquired by OKC and he started some games too. Waiters has changed numbers this season, back to his more familiar number 3, "23 just didn't feel right," he said referring to the number he wore last season.

Backup point guard D.J. Augustin can't wait to actually play a game with his old University of Texas teammate Kevin Durant. Remember KD was out for the season by the time Augustin joined the team. "To see him back healthy again is really a blessing." Even though Augustin and KD played together at Texas and have been buddies ever since he says he and Durant have not talked about the superstars upcoming free agency, "I don't think he's even thinking about that right now."

Thunder training camp opens Tuesday and we'll be there to update you on what happened.
