OKC Blue Point Guard Semaj Christon Will Play In Italian League

Oklahoma City Blue point guard Semaj Christon was very impressive at the Orlando Summer League, leading the team in scoring and assists, and now it appears he'll be playing in Italy.

Reports from Europe say he has reached a deal with Vuelle Pesaro. That team has struggled recently in the Italian League and finished 15th in the 16 team league last season.

The Thunder will maintain Christon's NBA rights and he could certainly return to the Thunder in the future, perhaps next season of the Thunder don't renew D.J. Augustin's contract. Augustin could even be traded before the end of this season if rookie Cameron Payne proves he can handle the backup point guard spot and that would then open up the third team job.

Last season with the Blue Christon averaged 18.3 points and 5.7 assists per game, he also played in the D-League All-Star Game.

He was drafted by the Miami Heat with the 55th overall pick in last summer's draft. He rights were quickly traded to Charlotte and then again to the Thunder in exchange for cash.

The city of Pesaro has about 100,000 residents and is on the northeast coast of Italy.
