Presti Says Durant Injury Caught Early

By Randy Renner

Thunder GM Sam Presti told reporters today it's fortunate superstar Kevin Durant told the team's medical staff he was feeling an ache in his foot yesterday after practice.

That means his injury was caught early before it became much worse.

Presti said the injury is a stress fracture and likely happened over time. He told reporters the Thunder and Durant will consult with various experts over the next few days to determine the best course of action. Presti said it's possible surgery might not be needed but, "we're heading in that direction."

No matter what the treatment Durant is expected to miss from six to eight weeks.
