Westbrook Likely A Gametime Decision Tomorrow

Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook is back, sort of.

He practiced with his teammates for the first time since leaving the lineup on December 26th for the third surgery on his right knee but Thunder head coach Scott Brooks said he’s not sure yet if Westbrook will be back in the starting lineup for Thursday’s highly anticipated game with the Miami Heat.

Big Week Ahead For Thunder

The All-Star free for all was kinda fun. Lots of highlight dunks, especially from former OU star Blake Griffin, and plenty of points from both Griffin and Thunder superstar Kevin Durant.

KD and Blake led the Western Conference with 38 points apiece but the eastern Conference rallied from 18 down to win a wild shootout 163-155.

Some Good Hate Brewing Between Thunder, Blazers

Ever since the Thunder pitched camp in Oklahoma City fans and media have been searching for a rival.

Maybe Dallas or San Antonio since they're close. Maybe Miami because of The Finals. Perhaps Houston because of James Harden and Oklahoma City public enemy #1 Patrick Beverley or maybe Memphis because of those gritty and grinding playoff series.

Lesson Learned??

I have no idea how many times I've heard it and I've heard it from high school players and coaches all the way up to the pros.

When a team or player or coach, for that matter, does something stupid or doesn't do something they've been practicing and working on forever, I always hear and you always hear, 'well that's something we just have to learn from,' or 'well we'll learn from this and we'll know not to do it next time.'

Thunder Do Just Enough to Beat T-Wolves

It was not one of the Thunder's best efforts, in fact OKC head coach Scott Brooks wasn't happy at all with the defense his team played for most of last night's game with Minnesota.

But even without their best effort the Thunder still managed to do enough to beat the short-handed Minnesota Timberwolves 106-97 last night at The Peake.

Minnesota Weather Greets T-Wolves in OKC

So I guess the Minnesota Timberwolves are feeling right at home this morning. They flew in from the frozen tundra of the north woods to the frozen tundra of the shortgrass overnight.

The T-Wolves beat the Lakers in Minneapolis last night 109-99 with former Thunder sixth man Kevin Martin tying a season-high with 32 points.

With Gasol Back, Grizzlies Rolling Again

The Memphis Grizzlies seem to have their mojo back, mostly because they have their Gasol back.

Marc Gasol, Pau's little brother, missed most of the early part of the season with an injury but returned to the Grizzlies' lineup the last time Memphis played in Oklahoma City, a game the Grizzlies won.

Silly Season Starting Early

It would seem the lunatic fringe is out in force already.

If you navigate through various sports websites you're seeing more and more stories wondering whether it's time the Thunder start working on a trade involving Russell Westbrook. (I know, I know).

Thunder Rolls To Statement Win

A statement win last night for the Thunder and the statement is, 'there's a new sheriff in town boys.'

You can pin the star on Kevin Durant or you can pin the star on Scotty Brooks. Brooks probably deserves it the most for finally coming to grips with the fact that his normal starting lineup doesn't matchup very well with Miami.

Not Just Another Game

These days coaches and players tend not to place more emphasis on one game over another, at least they don't publically.

And afterall every game does count the same in the win-loss column. You just get credit for one win even if you beat a great team and likewise you just have to live with one loss even if you lose to the worst team in the league.
